Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

About me

I am a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist specialising in the assessment and management of neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions in children and young people.

I hold an MBBS, am a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych), and have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Clinical experience

I work within the specialist Neurodevelopmental Team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW). My clinical work includes assessing and managing ADHD, Autism and complex or overlapping neurodevelopmental and mental health difficulties.

Approach to assessment

I take a thorough, compassionate and evidence-based approach. I consider developmental, emotional, behavioural, family and educational factors to understand each child or young person's individual needs.

Alongside my NHS Consultant role, I am Medical Director of Five2Eighteen Consulting, a specialist child and adolescent mental health and neurodevelopmental service for children and young people aged 6�18.

The service uses a multidisciplinary approach, drawing on information from young people, families, schools and other professionals. Assessments may include clinical interviews, observations and recognised assessment tools, followed by multidisciplinary review to support robust clinical decision-making.

Supporting families

I place children, young people and their families at the centre of care. I provide clear explanations and practical recommendations to support understanding, ongoing wellbeing and access to appropriate support.
