About me

Denosshan Sri was appointed Consultant Urologist at St George's Hospital, one of London's largest trauma and tertiary referral centres, in 2021, sub-specializing in Robotic Kidney and Prostate Cancer Surgery. He is the current lead for the delivery of Kidney Cancer surgery and major trauma at St George's Hospital in London.

He is an accomplished academic, having graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2011 with Double First Class Hons and a Distinction. His higher specialist training in London included fellowships in Robotic Upper Tract and Pelvic UroOncology and Reconstruction at St George's Hospital and Frimley Park Hospital in the UK.

While maintaining a broad scope of practice, his subspecialty expertise focuses on the utilization of robotics and minimally invasive surgery in oncological and reconstructive upper tract and pelvic pathology, as well as the treatment of male and female urinary symptoms (in particular day case BPH treatments). He has successfully introduced robotic retroperitoneal (space behind the abdomen/peritoneum) nephron sparing surgery to South West London, establishing it as the standard of care in kidney cancer management for the region, offering benefits such as shorter hospital stays, quicker patient recovery and return to work.

He actively contributes to research, and has been published in peer-reviewed journals on topics related to prostate, kidney, bladder cancer and robotic reconstruction. He is committed to surgical teaching and training at both local and national levels, having served as a faculty member and speaker at various courses and conferences. He has extensive experience within the robotic sphere resulting in him taking on mentorship roles at St George's, where he currently mentors consultant colleagues in robotic renal surgery, robotic female reconstruction (colposuspension), paediatric surgical colleagues in robotic paediatric urological procedures and general surgical colleagues in robotic adrenal procedures.

His leadership qualities have been formally recognized early into his consultant appointment, having served as Cancer Lead for Urology at St George's Hospital and as the current Lead for Kidney Cancer Services and major trauma.
