About me

Jenny Davies is a Consultant Haematologist, currently leading the department at Buckinghamshire NHS Foundation Trust. With a career spanning over two decades, her journey is marked by a profound commitment to patient care, continuous learning, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Graduating from Nottingham University Medical School in 2000, Dr Davies embarked on path of specialisation in Haematology following a period of working overseas in Tanzania. She subsequently undertook specialist training in Haematology at Guy's and St Thomas's in London. It was during this training, that she cultivated the skills and knowledge necessary to
navigate the complexities of haematological disorders.

She went on to qualify as a Consultant in 2011. Her professional journey has taken her across various NHS trusts, each contributing to her rich tapestry of experiences. From the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster and finally to Buckinghamshire NHS Trust. It is in the later where she has worked since 2017, that she currently runs the department and her role extends beyond clinical practice; she is a mentor, a leader, and a collaborator, shaping the future of haematology care in her community.

Jenny has extensive experience in all aspects of haematology including:
1) She diagnosis of a wide range of haematological conditions, including anaemia, thrombocytopenia, myelodysplasia, leukaemia, lymphoma, bleeding disorders, and thrombosis.
2) She is skilled in performing bone marrow biopsies, interpreting peripheral blood films, and analyzing complex haematological laboratory studies.
3) She has extensive experienced in administering chemotherapy and other specialized treatments for hematologic malignancies.
What sets Jenny apart is her unwavering commitment to patient-centred care. She views each patient not as a mere case but as an individual with unique needs and concerns. Her approach is characterised by open communication, empathy and a genuine desire to alleviate suffering. Patients under her care find solace in her reassuring presence and trust in her expertise.

Outside of work, Jenny is mum to two girls and in-between training for triathlons, can be found spending time with her family in the mountains of North Wales.
