About me
Dr Sohbia Shoaib is a skilled Chartered Psychologist and for the last several years she has worked as a Highly Specialist Psychologist for NHS Talking Therapies Service. Prior to this she spent over 20 years working with mental health across the NHS, forensic and private sector. She has expertise in completing a full range of assessments and interventions for clients who present from mild to severe/ complex mental health problems and psychological presentations including;

Dr Shoaib works with diversity. She has extensive experience and enjoys working with people from various ethnic, cultural and class backgrounds in particular South cultural Asian communities, being sensitive to both individual and cultural needs.
Dr Shoaib is passionate about her work. She will work collaboratively with you to develop an understanding of your difficulties in a safe, non- judgemental compassionate way in a reflective space. From this she will develop the most appropriate evidenced based treatment plan that is individualised and meaningful to meet your needs.
Dr Shoaib also offers online therapy which you can access from the comfort of your own home.
In addition to her clinical commitments, Dr Shoaib works as an academic tutor and supervises prospective forensic psychologists.

The interventions Dr Shoaib integrates are dependent on your needs. However, she does like to use Schema Therapy as she has found it helpful in empowering clients through developing insight by helping them understand why they might behave and think in unhelpful ways and providing clients with tools for lasting transformation.
Dr Shoaib also has a specialist interest in trauma and has trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training and CBT for trauma.
