About me

The counselling service I have established is called, "A Ray of Hope" I have a Bachelor of Science degree in integrative Counselling . I also have an advanced diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I offer clients therapy using the humanistic approach. I have a great deal of experience in counselling and group work.

I have worked within various professional organisations, including the NHS and The Priory Hospital, working with Addiction and many other issues such as trauma anxiety and depression.

I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment offering my clients unconditional, positive regard and empathy as they grow and develop. This can lead to greater insight, healing and progress. I work remotely through Zoom so I can reach clients who do not live in my area.

Sometimes the world we live in gets tough. There can be so many mixed messages which we start to believe about ourselves, this can sometimes develop into a negative core belief such as. " I'm not good enough or I don't fit in", and many more, as a result of this clients can often feel depressed, and it starts to affect self-esteem. Counselling can help clients to challenge these negative core beliefs and help break the patterns this will result in a more positive self-concept. and self-belief.

Our early experiences, both negative and positive, impact our present way of thinking, behaving and relating to others, therefore it is important to help the client to make those links between past and present behaviour, to increase their self-awareness and bring about change.

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a type of talking treatment which focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and behaviour, this therapy teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems.
CBT is based on the idea that the way we think about situations can affect the way we feel and behave. For example, if you are triggered constantly by intrusive thoughts you might experience negative emotions as a result, CBT will help you to see things differently and gain a new perspective.

I offer Psychotherapy which can be open-ended and last several weeks or months or even years. I also offer short-term counselling which will help to address current difficulties such as anxiety. Psychotherapy helps to address deep-rooted issues from the past these examples may include trauma, neglect, loss, bereavement, and abandonment.

I believe in the core conditions, i.e., putting clients at the centre of their recovery and empowering them to change their lives for the better!
