About me
David Grimes is an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon whose practice is dedicated to cleft lip and palate surgery at Evelina London cleft service. He has been a consultant at Evelina London and Guy's and St Thomas' since 2020.
David has degrees in both medicine and dentistry. He worked in dental practice before taking a maxillofacial training post at King's College Hospital and finding his true vocation in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Gaining a medical degree at St George's Medical School he went on to surgical training in the East Midlands. During this time, he undertook a cleft fellowship in Swansea and then the nationally appointed interface cleft fellowship in Birmingham Children's hospital. The British Oral and Maxillofacial Society awarded David the Norman Rowe Clinical Prize in 2018 and the President's prize in 2023, for presentations related to his work in cleft surgery.
