About me
David Grimes is an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon whose practice is dedicated to cleft lip and palate surgery at Evelina London cleft service. He has been a consultant at Evelina London and Guy's and St Thomas� since 2020.
David has degrees in both medicine and dentistry. He worked in dental practice before taking a maxillofacial training post at King�s College Hospital and finding his true vocation in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Gaining a medical degree at St George�s Medical School he went on to surgical training in the East Midlands. During this time, he undertook a cleft fellowship in Swansea and then the nationally appointed interface cleft fellowship in Birmingham Children�s hospital. The British Oral and Maxillofacial Society awarded David the Norman Rowe Clinical Prize in 2018 and the President�s prize in 2023, for presentations related to his work in cleft surgery.
