About me
My approach to therapy encompasses a blend of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), humanistic and mental wellbeing coaching. We'll work collaboratively, flexibly, and at a pace that feels right for you.
Janus was the Roman God of transitions and new beginnings, with one part looking back towards the past and the other looking forward to the future. In therapy we'll explore the experiences that shaped your past, consider your present experiences, and have an eye to the future. I'll work with you to show you ways to gain clarity and deepen your understanding, supporting you to overcome what's perhaps holding you back and move forward with purpose.
What to expect from working with me:
- A collaborative, safe and respectful space centred on your personal growth
- Honest discussion built on trust
- Learn tools and strategies tailored to you, so you become your own therapist
- Flexibility in approach, and flow at a pace that feels right for you
Together we'll understand what's shaped you, and to help you move forward I may bring in mental wellbeing coaching practices. We'll create a roadmap with key milestones you'd like to achieve which will inform our progress and ensure you get value from every session.
As a therapist and a coach, I'm here to support you discover your strengths and values, how to feel more confident, and importantly understand your needs and how to meet them. Discovering your authentic self and listening to your 'parts' are also important aspects of our work together.
A bit about me:
I completed my student placement and continued for several years to volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland. I came from a financial services background originally, ending with a career in project management and coaching. I'm also a peri-menopausal woman, so have lived experience of difficulties related to this particular stage in life.
Outside of work, I hit the mat every week in Pilates and enjoy walking in the stunning Scottish Borders. I enjoy live music as often as possible.
