About me
Online availability for therapy sessions.
With over 17 years' experience, Dr. Soha offers evidence based therapy and specialises in low mood/depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, self-criticism, self-esteem, cultural issues, personal growth and development. You may be feeling overwhelmed or stuck and feel restricted by current or past problems. Dr. Soha works particularly with high-performing professionals who appear to be coping externally but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or burnt out internally.
Dr. Soha uses approaches such as Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), ACT and DBT. She also employs eye movement desensitisation reprocessing (EMDR), person centred therapy and Compassion focused therapy (CFT).
Dr. Soha tailors therapy to suit your needs. Sessions with her won't involve "just talking about the problem" but more specific ways to help you move towards your goals by offering new perspectives and at times, gentle challenges. She utilises body-mind healing and somatic approaches to therapy and aim to address core issues rather than surface level healing. Her approach involves a unique combination of understanding the origin of the issues and exploring the past, as well as strategies and coping mechanisms to deal with these issues in the present.
She also has experience working with adults with ADHD, particularly individuals who are high-functioning yet struggle with focus, emotional regulation, chronic overoverwhelm, or burnout. This often overlaps with anxiety, perfectionism, and trauma-related patterns, and therapy focuses on understanding these experiences in a psychologically meaningful way.
Dr. Soha has extensive experience working in the NHS. She also has considerable experience in academia and has taught graduate and masters level students at the University of Leeds and University of central Lancashire. Her approach is informal, empathetic and compassionate.
She currently offers online appointments only, giving you the opportunity to explore issues in a safe and comfortable environment.
