About me

I am a fully qualified General Surgeon and sub-specialise in Upper Gastrointestinal disorders. Having completed my medical degree at Imperial College London, I undertook my basic and higher surgical training in Yorkshire and am a consultant for Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust as an Upper GI Surgeon. I lead the UGI Physiology MDT and work closely with surgical and non-surgical colleagues within the trust to deliver a safe and personalised service to my patients.
As well as my NHS duties, I am also an honorary senior lecturer for Hull York Medical School and teach on a variety of courses including Advanced Trauma and Life Support, Basic Surgical Skills and Intermediate Laparoscopic Skills courses on behalf of The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
I perform anti-reflux surgery, complex gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery and surgery for oesophageal motility disorders (including achalasia). As well as this, I also perform diagnostic and therapeutic Upper GI endoscopy (OGD).
