About me
Mr Ross Fawdington is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist expertise in hand and wrist conditions. Known for his calm and compassionate approach, he provides clear, personalised care that helps patients return to work, sport and daily life with confidence.
He treats a full range of hand and wrist problems, including arthritis, fractures, tendon injuries, trigger finger, ganglions and Dupuytren's disease. He has particular expertise in base of thumb arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and minimally invasive treatment for Dupuytren's disease. Mr Fawdington offers both surgical and non-surgical treatment options, including splints and injections, based on the latest evidence. He takes the time to explain every step and involve patients in decisions about their care.
He trained at the University of Manchester before joining the Oswestry orthopaedic training programme. He completed two advanced fellowships: one in ortho-plastic complex trauma and another in hand surgery through the national Training Interface Group scheme. He also holds a Master's degree in Hand Surgery, awarded with Merit.
Mr Fawdington has received several national accolades, including the Stack Travelling Fellowship from the British Society for Surgery of the Hand. This enabled him to undertake further training at internationally renowned centres, including the Mayo Clinic and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He has also held senior leadership roles, including leading the orthopaedic department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
