About me

Mr. Ross Fawdington is a highly accomplished Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon with an impressive background in medical education, leadership and specialised training. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Manchester in 2005.

During his orthopaedic training, Mr. Fawdington completed the renowned Oswestry training rotation, gaining valuable experience in his field. He further enhanced his expertise through dual fellowships, with one specialising in Ortho-Plastic complex trauma and the other in Hand Surgery. As part of the Training Interface Group � Advanced Training Post in Hand Surgery, he was competitively selected from the UK top 10 Orthopaedic / Plastic Surgeons.

Mr. Fawdington is one of only a few surgeons to have a Masters Degree in Hand Surgery. Additionally, he has been honoured with the prestigious Stack Travelling Fellowship by the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) with international experienced gained from centres of excellence in America. These include the Mayo Clinic, Rochester; the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York; Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston; and the Dell Medical Centre, Texas.

In 2017 he was selected as the BSSH-sponsored BOA Clinical Leaders Programme fellow and he is the Clinical Service Lead (CSL) for the T&O Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, leading a team of 25 Consultants.

Mr. Fawdington is passionate about medical education and is a member of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and he also serves as an honorary clinical lecturer at Keele University.

Notably, Mr. Fawdington has independently organised fourteen cadaveric surgical simulation and anatomy courses for Registrars in the West Midlands, demonstrating his dedication to training the next generation of surgeons. He is also organising faculty for the Major Incident Surgical & Trauma Team (MISTT) course training Consultant Surgeons, Anaesthetists and Emergency Medicine Doctors for mass casualty readiness. He is passionate about his work and is committed to delivering high-quality orthopaedic services.
