About me

About Me
I am a Counselling Psychologist with substantial experience of working with individuals, couples and families experiencing psychological difficulties and distress.

My aim to provide a safe and non-judgemental environment where clients are free to share their private experience. I honour all sexual orientations and gender identities. I spent twenty years of my professional life working in inpatient units and the prison service which means I have come across and worked with a large variety of the human experience. Since 2020 I am Director of Altogether Human CIC www.altogetherhuman.org.uk

Anxiety/Depression/Trauma
I like working with issues and worries ranging from anxiety, stress, and depression to all types of trauma. Of particular interest is working with people experiencing existential angst or simply feeling "stuck" in one way or another. I like to help people to get "un-stuck" and to take steps towards living their lives in more fulfilling ways, and having healthier, more rewarding relationships.

Sex and Relationships
In addition, I specialise in working with couples commonly experiences of difficulties in their communication, connection, transitioning through life stages such as parenthood, different types of betrayal and wanting to explore and heal emotional hurts and injuries. Sometimes couples also need the space to explore non-monogamous forms of relationships.
I also work with people who are experiencing psycho-sexual difficulties. The specific issues that I can help with include loss of desire, asexuality, differences in arousal and desire levels between partners, kinks and fetishes, pain on intercourse, difficulties achieving satisfaction/orgasm, erectile and ejaculation difficulties, and vaginismus to name a few. I also work with people wanting to explore their sexuality and/or gender identity.

Family Work
I also work with parents who are concerned about the behaviour or feelings of their children (e.g. children experiencing anxiety and/or aggression). Parents going through separation or parents whose adult children are struggling to fly the nest.
