About me

I am Dr Jackie Sewell, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, registered with and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). My professional organisation is the British Psychological Society (BPS) of which I am an Associate Fellow.

What do I do?

As a Counselling Psychologist, I provide psychological assessments and psychotherapy services to adult patients. I am trained in the use of several therapeutic models (including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, Psychodynamic and Existential Therapy). Depending on my assessment and formulation, I will use the most appropriate therapy to suit each patient�s needs. However, my approach is underpinned by humanistic and existential philosophy, and I therefore take a holistic approach to treating patients � mindful of biological, social, as well as psychological factors.

In my clinical work, I specialise in assessing and treating historical and current work-related and personal trauma. The trauma does not need to be a one-off event; it can be experiences within an environment over a period of time that culminates in causing psychological distress, and impacts on normal functioning and wellbeing.

I treat adult patients over the age of 18 presenting with symptoms relating to trauma, stress and burnout. These symptoms include:
