About me
Ed Casswell is a Consultant Ophthalmologist (eye doctor) who works for UH Sussex NHS Foundation Trust at Sussex Eye Hospital (Brighton), Southlands Hospital (Shoreham) and St Richard's Hospital (Chichester).
He graduated with Distinction from University College London Medical School as the top ranked medical student in London (University of London Gold Medal 2010). He completed his ophthalmic training in North London, including 5 years at the world-renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital. During his training he scored highest internationally in both Ophthalmic Fellowship exams (Crombie Gold Medal 2013 & Harcourt Gold Medal 2017).
At Moorfields he completed two advanced retinal surgery fellowships, in addition to a 6-month fellowship in medical retinal disease. He completed an MD research degree at UCL in 2020 and has more than 25 peer-reviewed publications (see list).
He has a reputation for being a caring, professional and honest clinician.
