About me
Therapy with me is warm, grounded, and real.
Clients often tell me they feel they can share absolutely anything with me without fear of judgment or shame. I aim to create a space that's genuinely safe, human, and compassionate. I'm not a silent observerI'm present, responsive, and conversational (with a good sense of humour when the moment's right). Therapy can be tough, but it doesn't need to feel heavy all the time.
I work with adults aged 18 and over, offering both short- and long-term therapy depending on your needs. Sessions are available in-person in Kirkby in Ashfield (North Nottinghamshire), or online/phone if that suits you better. Some evening appointments are available depending on current demand.
My approach is humanistic and integrative, which means I tailor therapy to suit your unique needs rather than following a fixed method. I tend to work reflectively and relationally, but I'll also offer practical tools and frameworks, if they help us make sense of what's going on. I often bring in creative methods too, such as imagery, metaphor, or postcards, especially when words are hard to find.
In addition to traditional talk therapy, I'm trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) - a powerful, structured approach that can be especially effective for processing trauma, anxiety, and overwhelming experiences. EMDR isn't right for everyone, but for many of us, it offers deep, lasting change. I'm currently working toward full EMDR accreditation and always collaborate with individuals to see whether this feels like a good fit.
I'm an accredited member of the NCPS, with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling Practice from the University of Nottingham. Before private practice, I worked across youth services, social care, education, and family supportso I understand the wider systems people often navigate and how these can shape our mental health, identity, and the beliefs we hold about ourselves, others, and the world. All of this can quietly inform the assumptions we carry into our lives and relationships.
I welcome clients from all walks of life and work in a way that adapts to the individual, not the other way around. I've worked with many clients who identify as neurodivergent, and I always aim to meet each person as the expert in their own experience. My role is to stay curious, open, and responsive to what feels most helpful for you.
Areas I work with include:
Trauma (including grief, shame, and emotional neglect)
Anxiety, panic and stress
Low self-esteem and self-worth
Life transitions and decision-making including loss and bereavement
Relationship issues and attachment patterns
Personal growth and identity exploration
Neurodivergence and masking-related stress
I offer in-person sessions in Kirkby in Ashfield (NG17) as well as remote sessions across the UK, as long as you have a reliable internet connection.
Feel free to reach out to arrange a free consultation call to discuss how we can work together.
