About me

About me

I am an accredited counsellor and EMDR therapist working with adults aged 18 and over. I offer trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy for individuals experiencing stress, panic, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, grief, and the impact of overwhelming or distressing life experiences.

My approach is integrative and relational, combining reflective counselling with structured interventions where helpful. I aim to offer therapy that is both compassionate and contained, supporting clients to improve emotional regulation, resilience, and day-to-day functioning.

Alongside counselling, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a structured and evidence-based therapy recommended for the treatment of trauma and distressing experiences. EMDR can be particularly helpful for clients whose difficulties are linked to past or ongoing overwhelming events. I practise EMDR in line with EMDR UK guidelines and receive regular clinical supervision, and I am currently working toward full EMDR accreditation.

I work effectively within insured and employer-funded therapy frameworks, offering both short-term, goal-focused therapy and longer-term work where clinically indicated, in line with allocated session pathways. I value clear collaboration around goals, pacing, and outcomes.

I currently have availability for weekday daytime appointments. Sessions are available face-to-face in Kirkby in Ashfield (North Nottinghamshire, NG17), as well as via secure video or telephone across the UK.

I am an accredited member of the NCPS and hold a First-Class BA (Hons) in Humanistic Counselling Practice from the University of Nottingham. Prior to private practice, I worked across youth services, social care, education, and family support, giving me a strong understanding of the wider systems and pressures that can impact wellbeing and functioning.
