About me
Hi! I'm Tracy. Thank you for taking a look at my profile. I know that it's difficult to choose a psychotherapist, so here is a bit about me and if you'd like a chat before meeting, let me know. I recognise how important the therapeutic relationship is, so initial contact is about creating a safe space for us to work together. I believe that a different therapy is required for every person because we all have our own unique story.
I am qualified psychotherapist and supervisor, working with individual adults over 18. I am an accredited member with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and IPT UK Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
I am experienced in working with all current mental health difficulties in adults, using a variety of approaches including, Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT), EMDR, Interpersonal counselling, Motivational interviewing, and Solution-focused therapy.
I have over 18 years' experience of working in the NHS with people experiencing mental health difficulties at varying levels of severity, from an initial episode to difficulties that are deep-rooted and longstanding.
In my private practice I offer individual tailored therapies for people, who experience psychological, emotional, and interpersonal difficulties that have a detrimental impact on their quality of life. In collaboration with you, this is achieved by.
Gaining a clear understanding of the onset of your difficulties.
Understanding you as an individual and considering how we can strengthen resilience and co-create healthier coping strategies and resources.
Address the cause and work together towards recovery. IPT can be used to treat multiple psychological issues in adults, including stress, conflict within relationships, eating disorders, and depression. Sometimes IPT is combined with other treatments to help improve mental and physical wellness. Your psychotherapy sessions will provide you with the skills and tools necessary to change negative thoughts and emotions into positive experiences long after your treatment has ended. This helps you be a better communicator and improves confidence in interpersonal situations.
The research and results behind IPT have proven it effective in treating many mental health disorders. As your abilities to handle interpersonal situations change, you will notice a significant difference in how you think and feel emotionally and physically. I believe that problems can be overcome, and solutions can be found that promote your wellbeing.
Making the connection in therapy can be transformative for your mental health, quality of life and sense of self.
