About me

I work as a full-time NHS consultant Paediatric Cardiologist, looking after children & adolescents (from newborns to 18 year olds) born with congenital heart disease. I also lead the care of children & adolescents with arrhythmias, inherited cardiac conditions & children with implanted cardiac rhythm devices (pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators and loop recorders). I have mastered a range of practical skills that extend from imaging (transthoracic & transeosophageal echocardiography) to cardiac catheterisation for electrophysiology studies and ablation, as well as implantation of pacemakers and cardiac defibrillators.

As an electrophysiologist, I receive referrals from the region for many children with palpitations (heart racing or 'fluttering'). Palpitations are not always caused by a heart rhythm abnormality, but when they are, there is effective treatment that can be offered and I am happy to discuss the options with the children and their parents.
