About me

Raf is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust with a specialist interest in head and neck cancer. He completed his medical degree from St Georges Hospital University of London in 2010 and subsequently undertook specialty training in the highly competitive environment of London. Prior to starting as a Consultant, he undertook the Advanced Head and Neck Surgery fellowship at Guys's Hospital.

His busy practice at Guy's Hospital has a reputation for undertaking highly complex ablative and reconstructive cases. However, Raf's role as a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon also involves a comprehensive understanding and management of conditions affecting the face, jaw, mouth and teeth.

In the Private sector Raf has concentrated his practice around the Cromwell Hospital and it's affiliated clinics, providing a world class service in a setting that is used to caring for a high volume of complex head and neck cancer cases.

Raf is dedicated to providing patient centred treatment plans prioritising aesthetics and function, thus optimising patients' wellbeing and quality of life. Whether managing complex surgical cases or collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, he brings a wealth of experience to his role, ensuring the highest quality of care for those entrusted to his expertise. Using his advanced knowledge and skill in microsurgery, Raf has also developed an interest in nerve repair surgery, especially focusing on Lingual and Inferior Alveolar nerves.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Niziol has also published numerous research papers and book chapters in his field including in head and neck cancer. He also presented his work at both the national and international field.
