About me

Mr Sundara Rajan undertook basic medical training at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India and graduated in 2003. He pursued his dream of becoming a surgeon by undertaking core surgical training in Yorkshire and North Wales. He developed an interest in breast surgery during his early surgical training and successfully undertook higher surgical training at the Northwest Deanery.
In his final year of training, through a competitive interview process, he was selected for the prestigious National TIG Oncoplastic Fellowship at Nottingham University Hospital. During his fellowship, he was trained by the pioneers of Oncoplastic Breast Surgery in the UK and gained experience in performing various oncoplastic, aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgeries.
On completion of his training in 2020, he worked as a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon for nearly 2 years in the Northwest of England. He subsequently relocated with his family to the West Midlands in early 2022 to take up the role of an Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. He provides his expertise in the management of breast cancer patients and offers various oncoplastic treatment options for his patients at Queen Elizabeth and Solihull Hospitals. In addition to his clinical commitments, Mr Sundara Rajan is also the Cancer and MDT lead for the Breast services at University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
