About me
*please note, I am not currently taking on any new clients at this time - my apologies for the inconvenience*
I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I have worked for ten years in NHS Clinical Practice. I have most recently worked with people who are living with complex long-term physical health conditions. I also have a background in working with people who have experienced difficult early life relationships; which affect their relationships with others and themselves in the here and now.
I offer individual talking therapy for a range of common mental health problems, mainly drawing on the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) model. I often work integratively, which means that I use ideas from CBT, alongside other therapeutic theories and approaches. This might include attachment theory, mindfulness, and compassion. A key principle in my work is to support you to notice patterns that repeat over time. Typically, these are patterns in relationships (including our relationship with ourselves) that we can often find ourselves feeling 'stuck' in. It's key to me, therefore, to build a strong therapeutic relationship from which to support you to find change.
I support people with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss, and making sense of significant life changes.
Ultimately, I want to help you find a way forwards from a place of feeling stuck. I think this is a position we have all found ourselves in at times, and we might feel we need a talking space with someone who is new to our story, to help us look at things in a different way.
