About me

I am a general adult psychiatrist with 21 years experience as a consultant.
I trained in medicine and then psychiatry in the West of Scotland for 10 years before becoming a consultant psychiatrist and have an endorsement and experience in liaison psychiatry.
I am interested in helping people with their unique mental health challenges to enable them to function well and achieve contentment.
I celebrate individuality and am non-judgemental.

Areas of interest

Treatment for people aged 18 plus - there is no upper age limit.
I have a particular interest in the assessment and treatment of people with neurodevelopmental conditions and associated psychiatric problems such as depression and anxiety:
I also have a strong interest in mental health issues in young adults and in early intervention for these to prevent these from worsening;
I work closely with GP colleagues to help women with hormonal and mood/anxiety difficulties.
