About me

Mrs Tomlinson graduated in Medicine and Surgery from Bristol Medical School and trained in London and the South West in Ophthalmic surgery.

She has competed almost 20 years of medical training and is a highly experienced cataract surgeon with a complication rate (PC rupture of <0.02%, national rate average for consultant 0.8%).

She offers cataract and lens replacement surgery with the most up-to-date technology via the insured pathway, with multifocal lenses at a supplement via the Bupa pathway. She also offer YAG capsulotomy treatment to polish the lens capsule post cataract surgery.

She completed her Ophthalmic Surgical Training on the prestigious and highly competitive Servern rotation in the Bristol Eye Hospital. She completed internationally recognised fellowships at the Bristol Eye Hospital.

During her training, she has been awarded numerous prizes for research in refractive surgery and quality improvement. She has been invited to present at multiple international and national conferences and is now focusing on ophthalmic education and optimised outcomes for cataract and lens replacement surgery.

Recently, she published a chapter in a medical educational textbook. Mrs Tomlinson is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is a full member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, British and Ireland Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Association. She is on the GMC Specialist register for Ophthalmic Surgery and was appointed a NHS substantive Consultant Ophthalmologist in 2023.
