About me
I am a calm, thoughtful, inclusive therapist with over twenty years' experience working in the field of mental health and social care. I can provide a supportive presence for people exploring a wide range of life situations and mental health issues. This support can be short-term or long-term.
I am a pluralistic counsellor, which means that I will do my best to vary my approach to suit each client that I work with.
I prioritise creating a safe and therapeutic environment where clients are respected, understood, and supported. Central to my practice is the establishment of a trusting and empathetic relationship, where my clients feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, emotions, and concerns without fear of judgement. I actively listen to their experiences, validate their feelings, and collaboratively explore their goals and aspirations. Working with each client and their unique needs, I strive to empower them to navigate challenges, build resilience, and cultivate positive change in their lives. With a commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards, I aim to foster a space where clients can explore their innermost thoughts and feelings, facilitating their journey towards personal growth and well-being.
Whether a client is dealing with childhood trauma, relationship breakdowns, stress, overwhelm, depression, or other forms of distress, I am here to help.
In this increasingly digital world, I'm pleased to offer online counselling sessions, allowing my clients to engage in therapy in a way that's most comfortable and convenient for them.
Therapy needs to work for individuals and their lifestyle, so weekly and fortnightly schedules are available as well as working around shift rotations. I offer short, medium, and long-term counselling support.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
I work within the ethical frameworks of the BACP, COSCA, and EMDR UK, and honour the values contained within them. In keeping with these frameworks, I receive regular supervision from experienced and accredited supervisors as a means of maintaining my effectiveness as a counsellor, EMDR practitioner and clinical supervisor.
