About me

I am a highly experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist, having worked in mental health services since 1998, and as a qualified clinical psychologist since 2004. I am a qualified CBT therapist registered with the BABCP. I am trained and experienced in the delivery of EMDR for both adults and children.

I have substantial experience supervising and training both cognitive-behavioural therapists and clinical psychologists, both individually and in groups. I also have experience offering clinical supervision to allied health and social care professionals.

I have worked in children's mental health services (CAMHS) services for the NHS for over 25 years, and have been part of the senior leadership team for the last 10. For over 6 years, I was seconded to work at the prestigious Psychological Therapies Training Centre, a centre of excellence for training in evidence-based psychological therapies in the northwest region, where I supervised, taught and assessed trainee CBT therapists.

Areas of interest

I have a special interest in trauma and PTSD, OCD, mood and emotional disorders including depression and the full range of anxiety presentations, including panic disorder, specific phobia, separation and health anxiety, but can work with a wide range of mental health difficulties. I draw on a range of psychological therapies in my work to suit the individual needs of my clients, although I have extensive experience and a special interest in both CBT and EMDR.

I offer assessment and treatment for a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties across the lifespan, working with adults and children. I undertake medico-legal work in the area of personal injury with both adults and children.
