About me

I am a northerner who moved from Manchester to Cirencester just recently in 2023. My therapeutic style is friendly and informal and I emphasise the importance of teamwork in cultivating change. We work together to set goals, develop a shared understanding and practice new coping strategies.

Alongside CBT, I use Compassion Focussed interventions and principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am also trained in delivering the Flash technique (an offshoot of EMDR) to help the processing of distressing memories.

I am committed to personal and professional development and am in my second year on the Counselling Psychology Doctorate, with the purpose of expanding my skills and practice. So you may notice my therapeutic style is sprinkled with a person-centred ethos!

My experience in mental health spans over 13 years, initially working in secondary care psychiatric hospitals, before primary care settings such as the NHS, charitable sectors and universities. To ensure your safety, I follow evidence-based interventions and the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines. I am also fully accredited with the BABCP and hold an enhanced DBS check.
