About me
I am a UKCP registered psychodynamic psychotherapist with extensive experience working with children, young people, and adults affected by adoption. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Attachment-Focused Therapy, and I am an Ofsted-registered provider linked with Barnardo's for adoption support services.
I work with children of all ages in both primary and secondary schools, as well as in private practice, partnering closely with parents, carers, schools, social care, Local Authority statutory services, and foster carers. My approach is integrative and person-centred, adapting flexibly to meet the individual needs and developmental stage of each young person. For primary-aged children, I often use art and play-based techniques, including games, creative arts, and sand play, to enable expression and exploration. Across all ages, I prioritise building a trusting, secure therapeutic relationship within a safe, confidential space, supporting clients to process trauma, express emotions, build confidence, and develop resilience and self-reflection.
With a particular focus on trauma, loss, and attachment disruptions, I offer both short- and long-term therapeutic work. I am committed to working collaboratively, ensuring that clear goals are agreed at the outset and regularly reviewed in line with the treatment plan. My experience, training, and passion lie in helping those affected by adoption to heal, strengthen relationships, and build emotional wellbeing.
