About me

If you're overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, or carrying the weight of your own childhood experiences, you're not alone. Parenting stretches every part of us, especially when we're navigating pregnancy, the postpartum period, behavioural challenges, or complex family dynamics.

I'm April, a clinical psychologist and mum of two. I support parents who want to raise emotionally healthy children while also caring for their own mental health. I understand how messy, beautiful, and complicated parenting can be and how hard it is to ask for help when you feel you should be coping

I support:

Parents struggling with their mental health: anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, intrusive thoughts, or burnout

Pregnancy and postpartum challenges: identity shifts, birth trauma, bonding difficulties, matrescence

Child development and behaviour emotional regulation, big feelings, sleep, transitions, sibling dynamics

Neurodiversity in the family: autism, ADHD, sensory needs, and the emotional load that comes with navigating support

Parents carrying their own childhood wounds such as neglect, emotional abuse, trauma, or patterns they're determined not to repeat

I draw on Compassion Focused Therapy, attachment-based approaches, psychodynamic thinking, and EMDR for trauma. My style is warm, grounded, and collaborative. Together, we make sense of what's happening, understand the why beneath the behaviour (yours or your child's), and build practical, emotionally attuned strategies that actually work in real family life.

Parents often tell me they feel: more confident and less guilty, calmer and more connected with their child, clearer about what their child needs and able to break patterns from their own upbringing.

I offer face?to?face sessions in Whitstable, Kent, and online therapy for parents who need flexibility.

If you're ready to feel more grounded, supported, and connected- both to yourself and your child, I'd love to help you get there.
