About me

Are you worried about your child or young person or yourself?
Has their behaviour changed significantly and are they struggling to cope with usual daily life?

Have you or your child had a recent assessment for Neuro divergence? (Autism, ADHD, OCD, etc)
I have been working with Children, Young People and parents for over 30 years. I am a qualified Counsellor and offer sessions for children and young people, and to parents struggling to understand their child's behaviours and help build positive relationships.

I hold insurance and liability provisions and am an accredited member of the BACP and counselling supervisor. As well as working in education I offer private counselling to Children and Young People from 5 to 25 years of age in Banbury, Daventry, Towcester and Byfield areas.

I specialise in working with Teens who have experienced trauma, self-harm, bereavement, loss, anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, family breakdown and addictions.

The counselling room is a place to offload and gain a different perspective and understanding of our lives. Clients are encouraged to explore who they are and the things they find difficult. For older adolescents, this can be done through art, creative activities, and talking that is guided carefully based on their individual interests and abilities. For younger children, time is spent working through play and story approaches as well as fun strategies to help manage big emotions.

As an Integrative Counsellor, I am skilled at finding creative approaches to explore some of
the innermost feelings, I aim to look at things from each clients perspective and offer
reflections that help them find a new strength to face their daily challenges.

Areas of interest

Children and Young People- 5 to 25 years of age.
Trauma Informed; Bereavement; Self harm; Anxiety; Depression; Family separation; Illness; Exam Stress; Bullying; OCD; Abuse; Neuro Divergence; Low Mood; Identity and Gender issues.
I am a Neuro Divergent Advocate and work with significant number of young people and adults with signs of Autism, ADHD, OCD, PDA, BPD, DID, Dyspraxia, etc helping to identify areas of strength and those that maybe causing challenges.
For those who may have received a recent diagnosis of Neuro Divergence, spending some time unpicking past experiences and reflecting on the impact of previously not knowing that your brain worked differently can be enlightening and cathartic. You are not broken or wrong. The environment and systems often don't feel like a good "fit" for you.
