About me

Anna Elston is a qualified, accredited Addictions Counsellor who holds a First Class Honours Degree from the University of Bath. She has 17 years of addiction-related experience, having worked for many years as a counsellor at some of the UK's most prestigious treatment centres: Clouds House (Forward Trust) in Wiltshire and Providence Projects in Bournemouth. In one of her more colourful roles, Anna was the Senior Coordinator of the Amy Winehouse Foundation Resilience Programme. Here, she helped volunteers in recovery from substance misuse share their life stories in school assemblies, delivering workshops on self-esteem, peer pressure and risky behaviour.

Now in Private Practice, she offers one-on-one online and face-to-face counselling in a safe space where you can share your thoughts and feelings without judgement. She understands how nerve-wracking reaching out for help can be because she's done it herself. Anna got into recovery from alcoholism herself in 2007.

Anna's specialism is Addiction, from wine to Wifi, beer to binge-watching and all other compulsive behaviours. She works with families around any addiction issues they are experiencing with a loved one. And if you're dealing with guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, or self-esteem issues, Anna can help you.

Areas of interest

Talking therapy either online or in-person in my therapy rooms in Christchurch, Dorset.

I work with adults of all ages, 18+ years. I'm especially interested in people who are stuck in a cycle of drinking or using drugs to wind down at the end of a stressful day but it's now having an impact on your life and family.
