About me

You might be struggling with emotions or behaviour that upset you and make life difficult. Thoughts, feelings and behaviour can cause distress and stop you from doing things that you want to. I have many years of experience working with these difficulties and have always had a special interest in stress tolerance and emotion. If you undertake therapy with me, I shall help you to develop insight and skills to live your life more the way you want to. We begin with how you want to change and the difficulties that block your way. Whatever issues you bring, therapy is empathic and focused on helping you to develop insight and skills that will help you. It is person-centred, led by your needs and goals, and sensitive to your personal situation. The emphasis is on you understanding how you struggle and on you finding ways to move ahead.

I can offer you over 35 years of experience in the NHS and private practice, and a well evidenced approach that has been shown to work. My main approaches are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. These are integrated specifically to meet your needs and provide you with an effective therapy. I am both a Clinical Psychologist and a trained Mindfulness-Based Approaches practitioner. My practice is supported by previous work as a person-centred counsellor in a crisis service.

I offer therapy in person and online via Zoom. If I have no in-person times available for you, we can begin to work online.
