About me

Hello and welcome to my profile. I am a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist. I work in a collaborative and non-judgemental way giving you space to offload, discuss things which have happened recently and/or in the past as well as current life changes and challenges. I hope you will find that talking in this way helps you to gain awareness and a deeper understanding which may make life more manageable. I work both short and long term - online, on the phone and in person near Andover in Hampshire.

I have a Foundation Degree in Humanistic Counselling based on Transactional Analysis which means that I work with the belief that we all have the capacity to grow and change. Together we can explore how the thoughts, feelings and beliefs which formed in your past may be making it difficult for you to make changes in the present. Perhaps you feel stuck and your usual coping strategies arent helping but you cant work out how to do things differently This may be impacting your relationships with family, friends and colleagues and together we can identify and try out alternative ways of responding to situations and interacting with others.

Over the past 10 years, I have worked in a variety of settings including a university counselling service and online with frontline NHS staff - helping people with a wide range of issues including anxiety, low mood, burnout, anger, grief and self-harm. Since my initial training, I have attended many different workshops and continue to integrate different ways of working. The most important thing for me is to build a rapport and to work together to identify what works best for you - for example, if I think it might be helpful, I share information about the brain, the body and the nervous system including strategies for managing anxiety.
