About me
I am an experienced Consultant in Respiratory Medicine based at Kingston NHS Trust as well as New Victoria Hospital. I routinely assess and treat patients with all types of general respiratory conditions but in addition am the Clinical Lead in Asthma and Pleural services at my Trust.
I am the Trust Chair for the Medicines Management Committee which means I am aware of the latest advances in healthcare to better inform and treat my patients. I am passionate about service improvement for which I have won awards and also support numerous patient safety initiatives and educational programs to GPs and doctors in training.
I started my training at University College London where i graduated with a BSc (hons) in addition to my main medical degree (MBBS). I completed specialist training in Respiratory at London�s leading hospitals including the Hammersmith, Royal Brompton, Guys and St Thomas' and Kings College. I have led clinical research trials in to new medicines and also completed scientific research for which I was awarded a PhD in Respiratory Immunology from King�s College London.
At Kingston, I was the principal investigator for Covid-19 including the ground-breaking Recovery trial and continue to provide expert guidance in Covid-19 related conditions. I maintain my understanding of the latest advances through active research including with collaborations at Kingston University and am the most active researcher in Respiratory at Kingston. I have advanced training in procedures including bronchoscopy and ultrasound guided chest drains and now also use this to train other doctors.
I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians where i examine doctors in post-graduate exams as well as a member of the British and European Respiratory Societies.
My aim as a Physician, is to combine a detailed understanding of respiratory conditions and knowledge of the latest advances with a patient centred, compassionate approach that returns patients to their best lung health.
I would be delighted to see anyone who is concerned about their health as well as patients with known conditions including Asthma, Pleural disorders, COPD, Sarcoidosis, respiratory infections or Sleep Apnoea.
