About me
Many of the people I work with have spent years building careers, relationships and lives that look successful from the outside, yet find themselves feeling increasingly anxious, stressed, exhausted, stuck or unsure about what they want next.
I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Psychotherapist with nearly twenty years' experience in private practice. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress and burnout, relationship difficulties, work-related problems and significant periods of change or transition.
People often come to me when the ways they've managed life previously no longer seem to be working. They may be struggling with anxiety or overwhelm, questioning a relationship or career, feeling dissatisfied or unfulfilled at work, or having a persistent sense that something needs to change without knowing what that change should be.
Before retraining as a psychologist in my 30s, I worked as a Director and Board member of a multinational organisation. This gives me a particular understanding of the pressures of professional life, including responsibility, performance, burnout, difficult workplace relationships and the experience of reaching a point in your career when success no longer necessarily feels satisfying.
I have a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Integrative Psychotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. My approach is integrative ?meaning I draw on different psychological approaches based on the person and the difficulty, rather than assuming one form of therapy suits everyone.
I have a particular interest working with millennials and midlifers and the psychological changes they may experience. This can include divorce and relationship changes, anxiety, burnout, children leaving home, career dissatisfaction or change, retirement, loss of direction and questions about identity, purpose and what you want from the next stage of your life.
Therapy with me is thoughtful, collaborative and practical. We will look not only at what is happening now, but at the patterns and experiences that may be contributing to it, and at what may need to change.
