About us

Hello, I'm Aiveen and I am Co Clinical Director of Systemisk Psychology Ltd. Systemisk Psychology is formed of a small team of highly experienced HCPC registered psychologists.
We offer evidence-based therapy to individuals, couples and families. We understand that in times of distress the mental health system can be difficult to navigate. We believe passionately that people can recover from the most hard-going of circumstances. We take the view that people are much more than a collection of symptoms or diagnoses. Our aims are to help people find hope and optimism during periods of struggle.

About me: I am a Chartered and Registered Forensic Psychologist and I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (ACBS). My practice is particularly informed by the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT is an evidence based approach for increasing psychological flexibility. The ACT approach goes beyond symptoms to the root cause of psychological suffering. In simple terms, ACT can help you develop skills to manage difficult thoughts and feelings so that you can live your life in ways which are important to you (what matters).
My background is working with high complexity populations and I have extensive experience of working with individuals who have experienced significant trauma and present with complex needs including self-harm and substance misuse. In more recent years my practice has extended to working in a more preventative and early intervention capacity; supporting people to make meaningful changes to their lives and achieve fulfilment; particularly during periods of life transition. I primarily work with adolescents and adults.
