About me

I am a Clinical Psychologist and have worked in the NHS for over 10 years in different teams which have crossed the life span.

I now specialise in the assessment and treatment of adults with a range of psychological, emotional and relational difficulties. However, I have also worked with children, families and older adults.

I have a real passion for helping people work through their trauma, relationship difficulties and problematic family dynamics. I understand the impact life stressors can have on our ability to manage the anxieties of everyday life. I have a positive working attitude and strongly believe in creating and encouraging an open and honest therapeutic relationship, which is at the heart of any therapeutic intervention.

I have the knowledge of working with a range of presenting difficulties including, abusive trauma histories, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, body dysmorphia, autism, OCD, relational difficulties, self esteem and gender identity difficulties.

I use many different psychological frameworks including, compassionate focussed therapy, relational models, Acceptance and commitment therapy and CBT. I tailor my approach to effectively support my clients with their psychological distress.

It can be a daunting, nervous and courageous step when accessing psychological support. It can sometimes be difficult to prioritise and give importance to our own needs, it can make us feel guilty or undeserving. However I believe self-care and self-love, are at the root of living a healthy well-being.

We will initially have an assessment session. This is essentially an appointment for the both us to meet and for me to understand your difficulties in more detail. At the end of this appointment we will come up with a plan to how I can help you work towards your goals. Most importantly this appointment will also give you the opportunity to trust me with your story think about whether you would like to continue to trust and work with me and if psychological support is what you require at this moment in time.

During my time in the NHS I have noticed a real lack of diversity in those that access mental health services. I am from the South Asian community and understand the importance of incorporating the impact of race, culture and gender on our ability to navigate life events and stressors.

I offer a free, phone consultation and I look forward to connecting with you.
