About me
Do you find yourself striving constantly, yet rarely feeling that it's enough?
I work with high-achieving professionals whose lives may look successful from the outside but who internally experience pressure, exhaustion, anxiety, or persistent self-criticism. Many of the people I see are thoughtful and capable individuals who have built demanding careers, yet feel driven by an inner voice that insists they must always do more, achieve more, or prove more.
Over time, this pressure can lead to perfectionism, people-pleasing, difficulty switching off, and strained relationships. I often describe this pattern as the tyranny of should the internal sense that one must constantly meet expectations, even at the cost of one's wellbeing.
In therapy, we explore where these patterns developed and how they continue to shape your inner life and relationships. Often, they originate in earlier experiences where recognition, safety, or acceptance felt uncertain. The strategies that once helped you cope may now be limiting your freedom or sense of ease.
My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and pragmatic. Drawing on relational, cognitive-behavioural, somatic, and existential therapies, I help clients understand the patterns that keep them stuck and develop a more balanced, compassionate way of relating to themselves and others.I work with individuals of all backgrounds and am attentive to how family systems, cultural expectations, and wider social pressures shape our inner world.
Before training as a psychologist, I worked in investment banking and later in the creative industries. This gives me a grounded understanding of high-performance environments and the pressures that can accompany ambitious careers.
As a British-Chinese psychologist, I also bring sensitivity to bicultural experiences, including questions of identity, belonging, and family expectations. My long-standing Buddhist practice informs the calm, attentive, and reflective presence I bring to my work.
