About me

Gordon currently offers counselling and psychotherapy for a broad range of client issues and will carefully assess and discuss with each client what the best approach will be to get the most favourable outcome. Many clients approach him following an episode of low mood, lack of motivation or anxiety and he will help you develop coping strategies to get your life back on track.
Gordon has particular skill and experience with work related stress issues, specialising in burnout, how to rebuild stamina and resilience and maintain balance. Many of his clients may be seeking support with navigating a return to work, often after long term absence. Some clients may be looking to resolve interpersonal dynamics in the workplace such as employee/manager relations that may have broken down. He is also able to support with issues relating to personal relationship issues, self esteem and confidence building.
Another area of interest is bereavement counselling having helped many clients and their families while working at Ayrshire Hospice. Other previous clinical experience comes from a variety of different settings such as his work as a student counsellor at Ayrshire College or in his current role as a trauma responder working onsite within corporate settings to provide support to staff and management following a critical incident.
He is currently open to referrals from private medical insurers, employee assistance programmes and clients who wish to self refer.
