About me
Psychotherapy and counselling offer a regular time and place in which to explore current and past experiences, and the meaning of past and present relationships within a relationship that is built on trust. At times, feelings and problems may seem overwhelming, and you may be seeking to come to counselling at a time of great distress.
Alternatively, things perhaps 'just don't seem right', but you cannot identify what is not working for you. Some ingrained patterns that you may or may not be aware of may be affecting your attitude towards yourself and your relationships with others.
Our thoughts, feelings, behaviour and physical symptoms can all affect one another without us realising how much of an impact they are having. We can find ourselves trapped in a vicious circle which can be difficult to break.
An understanding of past experiences and relationships can help us understand our present difficulties. Psychotherapy can help uncover sometimes unconscious, hidden links to our early experiences with others. At times, the work can be lively and thought-provoking. This may lead to a greater self-awareness which can help us understand ourselves, and ourselves in relation to others better. In turn, we can explore ways of making meaningful changes to our lives and our relationships through counselling.
