About me
Mr David George is an experienced Orthopaedic surgeon with specialist interests in hip and knee surgery, musculoskeletal trauma, and sports injuries. Graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2009, he pursued higher surgical training in London and was selected for the Specialist Registrar Orthopaedic training programme at Imperial College London. Mr George honed his skills at some of London's best hospitals, including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore.
Following the completion of his specialty training, Mr George dedicated an additional two years to Fellowship training, further refining his subspecialist expertise in hip and knee surgery. His time at the prestigious Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, and Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London added depth to his proficiency.
Mr George's commitment to excellence in Orthopaedics is underscored by his participation in renowned International Fellowships. Notably, he collaborated with leaders in hip and knee replacements at the Helios ENDO-Klinik in Hamburg and the Galeazzi Orthopaedic Institute in Milan. In 2020, Mr George was honoured with the EFORT Robotic Travelling Fellowship, where he visited specialist centres in London, France, and Germany pioneering robotic-assisted joint replacements.
In his role at The Princess Alexandra Hospitals NHS Trust, Mr George provides comprehensive care for acute musculoskeletal trauma and sports injuries, as well as for chronic conditions to hips and knees. Whilst he takes every effort to explore non-surgical options with his patients, Mr George is able to offer procedures to treat cartilage, ligament and meniscal injuries of the knee, as well as addressing early and advanced osteoarthritis of the hip and knee. This includes partial and total knee replacements, robotic-assisted knee replacements, total hip replacements, and re-do (revision) joint replacements.
Mr George is deeply committed to a patient-focused approach in his practice, recognising that each patient is unique. He prioritises open communication and will actively involve his patients in their decision-making process. Through personalised care plans, Mr George aims to guide patients on their journey to recovery, ensuring a supportive and empowering healthcare experience.
