About me
I offer one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy/CBT approach (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to adults aged 18 and upwards.
In our sessions, I offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment, by video, where you will be able to express yourself freely and address the issues you are experiencing.
Our first session will include an assessment of your problems and we will work together to create a treatment plan that works towards goals and recovery.
Further sessions will last 50-60 minutes and are usually scheduled for once a week, in the first instance, depending on your circumstances and affordability.
My training as a CBT and psychotherapist has enabled me to develop psychological knowledge from theory and research that informs my therapeutic work. This means I use emotion focused, relationship focused, integrative psychodynamic techniques as well as gold standard research based cognitive behaviour therapy. I am also trained in Yoga and alternative medicine.
As a CBT clinician I continue to develop within humanistic values. These focus on both respect for the individual and their unique experiences. I aim to build the clients potential, empowering them, by respecting them as experts in their own life and my role in their development and positive changes, values and ethics.
I follow the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions as well as the standards set out by BABCP , with whom I am accredited. This sets out the expected ethical principles, values and good practice standards to be followed by BACP members in their work with clients.
