About me
I am a highly experienced counselling psychologist who is able to draw on a range of evidence based approaches to help clients who would like to make changes to their lives and feel better.
I highly value a good therapeutic relationship and within this I use psychodynamic and CBT interventions so that the client understands themselves better. I also believe in the value of identifying practical strategies and ways forward so that therapy feels focused and productive.
Areas of interest
I offer treatment to people from the age of 13 upwards.
I work with both individuals and couples.
I work with a broad range of mood and anxiety disorders but have particular expertise in addictions, Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, self-harm, bullying, trauma and OCD.
I have also had further training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Schema Focused Therapy, both of which inform my work and I can apply where appropriate.
Whilst I am not a specialist in neurodiversity, I am more than accustomed to working with clients with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. I am confident in working with people where these issues are present.
I work both face to face and online.
I am a very active person, being both a mother and stepmother. Over the years, I have come also to be very knowledgeable and experienced in working with most pregnancy/childbirth and parenting issues.
