Ms Sameena Kausar has more than 20 years of experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Having worked at hospitals in Oxford, South-East England, and London deaneries including the tertiary care hospital like Guys and St Thomas, John Radcliffe and University hospital Southampton. She has learned from the best in management of complicated pregnancies and management of foetal growth restriction. She has published and presented multiple posters in various International/European Conferences and had two publications in Peer-reviewed Journals.
She is passionate about teaching and training and is actively involved in various programmes within the Mid-Southeast Essex hospital. She has organised various teaching courses on Perinatal mental health. PROMPT and RoBust for senior and junior doctors. She has been an advocate for high quality and safe practices through active involvement in Healthcare Risk Management, Clinical Governance, Clinical Research, and Medical Education. She has special interest to lead and strategize reformation of current UK Maternity services and look at ways to improve healthcare at organisational level.
She prides herself on providing compassionate, effective, and efficient care. Patients’ satisfaction and experience are essential elements of her practice. She thrives to provide an evidence-based approach to her patients which she has refined through her educational presentations within her NHS practice.
Ms Sameena Kausar is working as a Consultant Obstetrician, & Gynaecologist at Mid-Southeast Essex Hospital, in Chelmsford. She is lead for: Management of High-risk pregnancies complicated with complex medical issues, UK specialist perinatal mental health services covering South/Southwest region of England, Management of Growth restricted Fetuses, Medical Education for East of England trainees. She also works in conjunction with Barts College London for the delivery of medical school curricula, to undergraduate students.

1)Gynaecology conditions: Menstrual disorders, Chronic pelvic pain, Polycystic ovaries, Endometrioses, Endometrial polyps, Endometrial ablations, Check for cancer screening, Cervical screening and treatments including Colposcopy and LLETZ, Ovarian Cysts, Family planning including insertion of contraceptive coils and implants, Female sterilisation, and Minimal Access Gynaecology surgery.
2)Abdominal and Transvaginal Ultrasounds for: Screening of premature birth of foetuses’ includes cervical length from 16-24wks gestation, Screening for Preeclampsia from 18-22wks, Reassurance scans to check pregnancy viability from 12-24wks and Gender scans from 14 wks-24wks
3)Special interest in women’s health and wellness including, Birth trauma Counselling, Preconception counselling, Menopausal health counselling including HRT, Sexual health screening, and Family Planning counselling.
