About me
Hello, thank you for reading my profile.
I'm a warm and caring counsellor/psychotherapist with over 12 years' experience, who can offer you a safe, confidential space to explore your concerns or worries. I work collaboratively and aim to create a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel able to speak openly and honestly.
My main approach is person or client-centred, this means that you choose the topic of conversation - and we work to your agenda, at your pace. During therapy, we can look at your options (if appropriate), and you choose any changes you would like to make. I have a range of follow-up information that I email to clients after sessions, but don't set homework!
I'm qualified to work in-person and remotely, so you are welcome to come to my lovely home office (or the summerhouse when it's warm) in Pencoed Bridgend, or meet me online or over the phone. This means you can be anywhere in the UK and still access your sessions.
Previously I spent 15+ years working within substance misuse services before qualifying as a counsellor, so have wide experience in that field too. I trained with the counselling team at Hospice in the Weald for 3 years, supporting bereaved family members.
