About me

Rob is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hip and Knee Surgeon with an NHS practice at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. He qualified in 2009 from the University of Birmingham and completed his Orthopaedic registrar training in Oxford. Upon completion of his specialist training he undertook three specialist fellowships in complex arthroplasty, revision hip and knee surgery, and Sarcoma at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London. He was subsequently appointed as a substantive consultant at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in 2021 before moving back to Oxford in 2024.

He has been awarded travelling fellowships from the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Hip Society in order to visit various centres of excellence both at home and abroad.

He is passionate about education in surgery and was awarded the 'Trainer of the Year' trophy for the Stanmore Orthopaedic rotation in 2024. He sits on the national Specialist advisory committee for orthopaedics which acts as a national body to advise on the training of orthopaedic surgeons in the UK. He holds a Masters degree in medical education from the University of Cardiff.

He is engaged in ensuring quality and safety for patients and is the current National Joint Registry Lead for the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre along with engaging in multiple service development projects.
