About me

I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist and a Chartered Psychologist, who is experienced in working with adults and young adults. I have worked within a number of NHS settings and private settings over the past 19 years.

I provide assessment and therapeutic intervention for a range of common psychological issues including depression, anxiety, ocd, trauma and interpersonal/ emotional difficulties. I specialise in trauma, PTSD and working with adults with emotional/interpersonal problems linked to childhood. In addition I specialise in the area of perinatal mental health.

I utilise several therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). I do however believe and have a passion in ensuring any intervention is tailored to the individual and their own needs; making my approach 100 per cent person centred.

I have also gained a postgraduate diploma in the delivery of supervision and am able to provide supervision to professionals as required.

2015 – Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision for Inpatient and Complex Care Settings, University of Sheffield.

2011 - Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy), University of Birmingham.

2004 - Masters of Science in Health Psychology (MSc) with distinction, University of Derby.

2003 - Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BSc Hons), 2.1, University of Derby.

I accept referrals from GPs, individuals, Occupational Health Providers. I can also offer expert witness work for criminal matters. Please note due to my training and areas of specialism I only accept referrals age 16 years and over.
