About me
I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and Behavioural Couples Therapist (BCT) and have worked in psychological therapies services for 5 years, working primarily in an NHS talking therapies service as a Senior CBT therapist.
I specialise in CBT which is the recommended treatment for depression and anxiety disorders according the the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines. CBT is also evidence based treatment, meaning it's success has been researched and approved across many years.
My second area of specialism is Behavioural Couples Therapy (BCT). This is a form of couples therapy based on principles of CBT whereby behaviour and thought patterns are explored to address relationship distress.
I also have further training in working with people with long-term physical health conditions, where psychological treatments such as Acceptance an Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) can help manage the impacts of physical health difficulties.
