About me

I know what it is like to be in that place. Like many of us in the helping professions I became a helper because I know what it is like to experience trauma, loss and mental health difficulties. Because of this, and because of who I am, I eventually concluded that Id like to train to become a psychologist. Three degrees, a massive student debt, years of graft later, I eventually qualified as a Clinical Psychologist. And you know it was worth every, single, second. I now get the privilege of helping people every day.

For me the essence of a good therapy session is connection. Lets be real. I could be technically brilliant at what I do, but if we dont gel as people, if you dont feel comfortable with me, then you are unlikely to be benefit from our conversations. In that regard I consider myself quite lucky. I just like people. I admire each person's humanness and the uniqueness in us all. The people I am privileged to work with astound me daily; their ability to reach out for help when they are at their lowest ebb is nothing short of remarkable. Peoples drive and desire to make monumental strides within therapy on their road to recovery is, at times, so humbling.

If you find yourself in a room with me, either face to face or virtually, I think you will find that I am a decent person who will genuinely care about helping you to make progress towards whatever goal it is that you may have. And all of this will be delivered in my beautiful Wolverhampton accent! Being in therapy is a completely unique experience for each and every one of us. Of course, there are times in therapy when my client will just want to cry and scream and for me to just be there. But there are many other times when we will talk, I will listen, I will care and I will try to help. And I wont lie, for those who like to laugh, Im not scared of laughter coming from my therapy room in the right moments of course!

If having read all of this, you decide youd like to chat then please do get in touch. We can have a conversation on the phone so you can tell me a little bit about yourself or your difficulties, and I can decide if I am the right person to help you. If you decide that maybe Im not quite the right fit for you, then I really do wish you all the very best on your journey of recovery.

I offer remote therapy sessions so that you can attend therapy from the comfort of your own home; many of my clients love the convenience and the ease of working in this way. If however, you would prefer to meet face to face then I am also able to offer you an appointment in my beautiful therapy space at Dunston Business Village..

Dunston is a small village located very close to a number of the major roads including the A5, A449, M6 and M54.
