About me
I am a HCPC registered Psychologist who specialises in working with adolescents and young adults. I have many years' experience working across education, health, social care and charity sectors. I am also employed as a Senior Psychologist within an NHS mental health service.
I have had the privilege to work with, and learn from people from a wide variety of backgrounds. I believe our past experiences and social context holds great relevance to our sense of identity and experiences in the world.
Young People who have worked with me often remark that I create a safe and non-judgmental space where they have felt heard. I work collaboratively with each person at a pace and depth that feels psychologically safe but sufficiently challenging to make progress. I aim to support young people explore their current difficulties, past experiences as well as strengths, hopes and dreams in a bid to help make meaning of their distress, enhance coping and empower them to live lives that are authentic and fulfilling.
I am committed to upholding confidentiality, but I also understand that involving parents/carers, partners, and educators can be important. Therefore, I offer advice, consultation, and training to key people within a person's support network with permission and as required.
Areas of interest
My work focus is with young people (14 to 25 years) who are experiencing psychological difficulties with anxiety, depression, relationships, loss, learning as well as life transitions and questions of identity.
I offer both individual and group psychotherapy. My preferred therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, but I have the training, skills and experience to draw upon a range of psychological models to best meet your needs and goals.
