About me
I am a Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon with a well-established and very busy NHS practice based at Queens and King George Hospitals in London (Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust). I specialise in all aspects of Upper Limb surgery - Hand & Wrist, Elbow, and Shoulder. This includes soft tissue and bony work, arthroscopic (key-hole) surgery, sports conditions, and joint replacement surgery.
I completed my specialist Orthopaedic training on the prestigious Cambridge rotation, spending my final year at Addenbrookes Hospital (Cambridge) Upper Limb Unit, and subsequently completed 2 post-CCT training fellowships at the world renowned Kings College Hospital London Major Trauma Centre further specialising in both Hand & Wrist and shoulder & Elbow surgery.
I strive for excellence throughout my career. My undergraduate medical training was at St Georges University of London, achieving a distinction and multiple prizes for academic excellence. I completed my foundation and core training years in and around London. I am an avid trainer with clinical and educational supervision training roles. I am a reviewer for several Orthopaedic journals and have multiple publications. I have a formal teaching qualification; PGCert in healthcare and biomedical education, and hold a clinical lecturer role at Anglia Ruskin Medical School.
I am the surgical consultant contact for hand therapy (run a weekly meeting for complex cases), co-run the upper limb weekly MDT, and co-organise the monthly regional complex hand clinic (spanning 5 hospitals in London and Essex). I am well organised and represent the department on the trauma governance meetings and recruitment committees. I have set up guidelines and protocols to simplify, standardise, and improve the standard of care.
