About me

About Me
I have substantial clinical experience working with adults presenting with a range of mental health and well-being issues and concerns.

This experience is drawn from working within statutory, voluntary and private organisations across the health (e.g. NHS staff counselling), education and social care sectors. My private practice work includes previous experience of working with a range of more commercial/industry-based organisations via a workplace, employee assistance service.

My clinical work is further underpinned by my background as a social worker. Through this I developed the flexibility to engage and work with a wide range of people and circumstances. I also gained the lived experience of how it is to be an employee in organisations.

I am therefore familiar with some of the particular challenges and opportunities that work environments can present, be that at an organisational level, or more within working relationships and team dynamics. Alongside this, I recognise that our personal lives are interconnected with our work ones. My focus is therefore on you as a whole person.

I am also a UKCP recognised supervisor.

Therapeutic approach
The therapeutic model for my work is Core Process Psychotherapy. This is a mindfulness-based approach to exploring our present experience in a way that honors both our potential and our sense of suffering. It recognises all aspects of what it means to be human (the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual expressions of being).

I offer you support to develop awareness and understanding about yourself and your experiences and encouragement to explore what might enable you to resolve difficulties and make lasting changes.

I facilitate the building of a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship, the development of compassionate curiosity and reflective clarity. This relationship and the space it offers is what supports and enables resolution and personal growth.

In our work together we attend to expanding personal resources, including drawing on the creativity of the ordinary and the everyday; this helps to contain the work and enable your ongoing journey.

Areas of interest

I work with individuals aged 18 years plus; for face to face sessions.
Issues include: stress; anxiety; depression; the impact of trauma; relationship issues; bereavement and loss; self-confidence; life-stage transitions, neurodiversity and others.
I also offer reflective practice (individual or group) supervision and contemplative group work for the purposes of supporting the development of well-being and resilience.
