About me

I am a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with over 12 years experience at Consultant level.
I trained as a doctor at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School at the University of London, then undertook basic surgical training in London and Essex. I then undertook a period of research at St Mark's Hospital in Harrow and was awarded a doctorate from Imperial College in London. I completed my higher surgical training at a number of hospitals in Essex as well as University College London Hospital prior to my appointment at Southend Hospital as a Consulant in 2010.

Areas of interest

I specialise in a wide range of disorders of the bowel including the treatment of common anorectal conditions and groin hernias. In particular I specialise in the investigation and treatment of bowel cancer as well as having an interest in complex hernias of the abdominal wall. I also have a specialist interest in patients suffering bowel problems following pelvic radiotherapy for cancer and run a specialist multidisciplinary clinic treating patients with this condition.
